Island Voices

Reggae & New Jamaican Music

Island Voices Reggae and New Jamaican Music by Dona Omanoff & Fureus, links the reader/listener to over 300 songs, books and artists. People can sample the music or buy immediately via their phone or device. In addition to short biographies of the artists, the book explains the songs in the context of the Jamaican culture and language. Links to the artists’ Facebook and other websites are included giving the reader access to new releases, videos and tour dates. Songs are labeled by categories such as love/romance/sex, culture, family/friends, nature/earth, etc. to make it easy to scan the music.

The book is written for tourists and visitors to Jamaica but everyone from the college student to baby boomer will enjoy it. There is something for all—love songs, traditional reggae and new dancehall.

The book provides insight into reggae’s impact on hip-hop, dancehall and now dub including techno and electronic music. Reggae is education through music. People have ears to hear reggae.

*to overstand (as opposed to understand) in Rastafari terminology refers to a higher level of  consciousness.

The beauty of e-books is that you can change them for special purposes. Therefore we welcome “bulk-buying” and private labeling opportunities for tourist entities such as hotels, cruise ships, conferences or other businesses. What a fabulous way to increase your brand by including your logo or other information for a specific audience. A great gift for wedding guests or to compliment a golf or eco-tourism vacation.

The e-book will help people deepen their experience of the island and provide memories for a lifetime.  Everytime people remember the music, they’ll think of the time they spent in Jamaica.

We give 15% referral thank you for deals that get “done.”
